The UK And Australia To Cooperate In Clean Energy Push

On Friday, it was announced that the UK and Australia intend to work with each other for the purposes of accelerating renewable energy technology.

The Australia-UK Climate and Energy Partnership will focus on advancing technologies including offshore wind and renewable hydrogen, a.ka., green hydrogen. The two nations also intend to push for further decarbonisation.

Leaders Keir Starmer and Anthony Albanese believe the transition to carbon net zero can create new jobs and enhance their respective nations’ industrial base.

This partnership will see further co-operation between the two nations when it comes to international climate action. This will include a focus on the countries working together on climate finance and renewable energy alike.

The current UK government is already aiming to completely transform the UK energy system by the decade’s end.

This could be achieved with projects/initiatives like GB Energy and the National Energy System Operator or NESO. One standout goal is for the UK to reach 100% clean and affordable electricity by 2030.
