Energy Tariff Views In The UK

Smart tech has been steadily growing in recent years. According to Statista, the total annual revenue of smart appliances in the UK grew from $1.1 billion (about £852 million) to $2.7 billion (close to £2 billion).

Among the findings of the recent Tomato Energy survey include approximately one in three respondents wanting smart meters that feature personalised tariffs to lower costs.

Of the 2,000 households polled, some 55% expressed a desire for their energy company to be proactive in ensuring their tariff is as cheap as possible. Some 40% of household decision-makers were not aware of their household’s current tariff.

About one in four household decision-makers who responded to the survey conveyed their doubt that they are offered the lowest tariff available from their energy provider on a consistent basis.

According to their website, Tomato Energy is the UK’s first supplier providing customers the option of personalised tariffs through smart meter data.
