Trade association Energy UK has announced that current Deputy CEO, Dhara Vyas, will become the company’s CEO from November.

Vyas is to replace Emma Pinchbeck who is set to leave Energy UK to become the head of the Climate Change Committee.

Ms Vyas originally worked with Citizens Advice, prioritising issues relevant to decarbonisation, net zero and the direction of the energy market.

In October, it was announced that Ms Pinchbeck who initially became Energy UK CEO in January 2020 would commence work at the Climate Change Committee from November 11th.

A Friday news post from Energy UK’s official website also discussed how Ms Vyas has experience in local government. This is alongside experience with wide-ranging areas of policy (e.g. local democracy, community building and civil society).

In the above-mentioned post, Ms Vyas noted how she was honoured to represent such an important collection of businesses.

Energy UK’s deputy CEO also added that with the energy industry leading energy decarbonisation and the push for economic growth, she is excited to lead (Energy UK) with it at the fore of the UK’s energy transition.
