Aira UK Opens Heat Pump Site In Manchester

Last updated: May 30, 2024

Swedish clean energy tech company Aira has established a heat pump centre in Trafford, Manchester. This hub will also act as the company’s North-West England headquarters.

The heat pump site launch is part of the company’s £300 million investment in the United Kingdom.

The brand intends to offer UK homeowners with a subscription-based package. Aira also aims to employ 8,000 clean energy experts in the decade ahead.

The site was officially opened by Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham. Manchester is targeting carbon neutrality by 2038 and increased heat pump instalments could help the region achieve this proposed milestone.

While heat pumps remain relatively expensive, there is still a high level of interest, both in the North-West and nationwide.

The new centre is anticipated to create hundreds of jobs. This hub will be led by Marc Clarke who brings two decades of experience to the table. The opening of their North-West headquarters follows the company launching a Sheffield-based training site this year.
