Recent analysis by the Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit has shown that the UK’s net zero economy saw 10% growth in 2024, generating £83 billion in gross value added.
Of the £83 billion added in GVA, most resulted from broad contributions to the economy and supply chain activities. However, close to £29 billion came direct from business that operate with net zero emissions.
According to the ECIU’s report, net zero activity rose three times faster than the UK economy in general.
Approximately £16.2 billion of net zero economic activity was associated with London and about £13 billion with the south east of the UK.
