Our mission

Clear UK energy advice without the sales fog

EnergyGuide exists to help UK households understand boilers, solar panels, heat pumps, grants, tariffs and home energy costs before making expensive decisions.

01 Independent guidance

We explain the options clearly so readers can compare products, costs and providers more confidently.

02 Practical decisions

Our guides focus on real household choices, not vague sustainability slogans.

03 UK-first context

We write for UK households, with UK prices, grants, energy policy and installation routes in mind.

Why EnergyGuide exists

Home energy decisions are expensive. They should not be confusing.

Replacing a boiler, installing solar panels, choosing a heat pump, applying for grants or trying to understand your energy bill can quickly become overwhelming. The information is often fragmented, outdated, overly technical or written to push a sale.

Our job is to make those decisions easier. We publish plain-English guides that explain what things cost, what affects the price, what to watch out for and when a product or scheme may not be right for your home.

How we work

Principles behind our guides

01

Start with the reader’s decision

We focus on the questions people actually have before spending money: what it costs, what affects the quote, what the alternatives are and what can go wrong.

02

Make costs easier to compare

We aim to explain typical price ranges, hidden extras, eligibility rules and trade-offs so households can compare options more intelligently.

03

Separate advice from sales

Some pages may contain commercial links, but our editorial goal is to explain the topic clearly and help readers avoid poor decisions.

04

Keep it UK-specific

UK energy advice needs UK context: grants, installers, housing stock, tariffs, policy changes and the way people actually heat their homes.

Commercial transparency

How EnergyGuide makes money

Some EnergyGuide pages may include affiliate links, quote links or commercial partnerships. This means we may earn a commission if you click a link, request a quote or buy through a partner.

Commercial relationships should never be a reason to hide important information. Our aim is to explain options clearly, including costs, trade-offs and situations where a product may not be suitable.
